Opiate Rehab
Opiate Rehab
At Divinity Recovery, Inc., we offer opiate rehab for clients who are addicted to opiates. Opiates are drugs that are derived from the opium poppy plant. Opiates include heroin, morphine, Oxycodone, Vicodin, hydrocodone, and more. All of these, with the exception of heroin are prescription pain killers, but are often misused and are very addictive. Opiates cause dependence, addiction, overdose, and even death.
Symptoms of Opiate Addiction
Opiates are generally designed to provide pain relief when used correctly. When misused, they cause a feeling of euphoria since the brain is flooded with dopamine, a neurotransmitter. When that euphoric feeling leaves the body as the drug wears off, the person using craves that feeling again, which in turn, causes them to use more. When opiates are misused, they cause the nervous system to become incredibly depressed. Other side effects of opiate abuse include drowsiness, comas, decreased breathing, and compulsive drug-seeking behaviors.
Treatment Center for Opiate Addiction
Treatment for opiate addiction is always beneficial as it is dangerous to withdrawal from opiates without medical attention. The first step of treatment is detox. This is where you will go through withdrawal. We, at Divinity Recovery, offer medically assisted detoxing. In this, medications will be used to assist in the detox process to help ease some of the withdrawal symptoms. During detox, your body will rid itself of all of the toxins created by the drug or drugs that have been abused.
The next step is in-patient treatment at an accredited addiction treatment facility. This is where our team of medical professionals and therapists will help set you up to hopefully live out life-long sobriety. You will participate in individual and group therapy sessions in which you will learn healthy coping skills to replace the negative coping skill of opiate use. You will also learn skills to help you cope with stressors of day-to-day life.
Following treatment, you will be set up with an aftercare plan. This is a process that will help best set you up for life-long sobriety. Aftercare may include therapy sessions, group sobriety meetings, finding hobbies to keep you occupied, or setting up a social support network. This is dependent on the needs of the client and will vary from case-to-case.
